The Rushcutters
Dear Laslett,
I was
surprised to not find any reference to 'Rushcutters' on your excellent
website.
I am not
sure whether it is more appropriate to refer to the establishment
as 'pub' or 'British', but whatever category it falls within, the place is
superb. My wife and I eat there quite regularly and we have never had a meal
that is anything other than of very high quality. The menu is quite
extensive with dishes from many countries. Prices seem to fall midway
between pubs and more expensive restaurant prices, but they do represent
good value for money. A very pleasant ambience coupled with a good, but
sadly small, selection of real ales. Unfortunately it is very popular and
you cannot book tables. It is a 'turn up and take your chance'
establishment, but I have to say that the Landlady is very helpful at
securing tables for customers. I guess that would be my only complaint, it
would be nice to arrive there and not spend the start of an evening worrying
about if and when we would be sitting down. Perhaps they could try a system
similar to deli counters in supermarkets where you take a numbered ticket
on
arrival and get a table accordingly?
I do thoroughly recommend 'Rushcutters' at Thorpe near Norwich.
